Seems tough to achieve minimum required willpower since you can only select 1 fetish/sensitivity.
Entirely possible, and it gets easier as the game goes on. Early on, you have to tank Aura's WP through:
- Hydrangea boss fights (let them use pollen until WP is 0, then finish them off)
- Letting Womb of Lust lower it over time
- Using Vitality Potions (which you can craft at the Alchemist with Mutated Spores from hydrangeas)
- Using Sweet Memories
Later on, it becomes much easier as Aura gets higher Lewdness, more lewd passives that situationally lower WP, and also more curses that lower WP.
Womb of Lust will always force a masturbation scene at day start at 0 though, which is why I was unsure of how to achieve them outside of your designated fetish/sensitivity. I knew about the potions but stock is always something to think about.
Haven't played enough to know what sweet memories is, as I've spent far too long a time trying to manage hard mode, think it needs reworked, it's too much as is.
Is there an ideal fetish/sensitivity combo? You can't change it, so I assume there's something that would be ideal for early game problems. I imagine something like exhibitionism to start with.
The main conundrum I have is that if I don't release Charlotte from Prison immediately, she will fall behind in exp, but beating the spider queen while heavily cursed does not sound fun.
I think you should be playing on Normal difficulty tbh. I can't even imagine playing on Hard without knowing all the ins and outs of the game.
I'd say the best fetish in the game right now is Lewd Knowledge, because after a certain lewd book from the Trademond bookstore, you can reach very high MATK values if you have high Lewd Knowledge. Exhibitionism also helps in a couple of ways, including the sex moves in combat.
Yeah, relying exclusively on Womb of Lust without any effective willpower modifiers (from fetishes/sensitivities and passives) gets you masturbation scenes, but only at the very start of the game. Here's what I do when starting out: do the hydrangea fight in the forest, using Star Knightess if needed to finish off the boss. Go to the Alchemist, do the pink lewd scene with him. Give him the spores, buy the potions, use one. Go to the jailer for Charlotte, do the pink scene with him, use another potion. Finally do the pink Hermann scene. Oh, and it's best to not be affected by Womb of Lust when starting this, because you'll get all that WP back after the first H-scene. Of course, you can do something like this with other H-scenes that don't end the day, like the guard exhib scenes in Trademond, as long as you have the Vit potions to counter the WP boost after each pink scene. Just make sure Corruption doesn't overflow and you get a Game Over.
I feel like I understand the games combat well enough to play well, it's just that enemies are so beyond overtuned you need really good rng even with the right strategy, party members get one shot, or you need to use star knightess against anything remotely threatening unless you continually stall progress in favour of upgrades in order to stat-check enemies. Normal mode feels a bit easy, while hard just feels like luck.
The part that confuses me is that every time I've gotten low on willpower and used a trait to perform a pink scene, my willpower has almost full restored. More than a potion would counteract. I just tried and it restored 30, while the potion reduces WP by 20. Is this a hard mode thing or something?
I'm guessing this is due to Womb of Lust, which resets when you do a H-scene or use a Blessed Water, giving you back the WL it was suppressing. In that case, it's why I said you should not be affected by WoL when you start a pink H-scene chain with hydrangeas. If you got 10 more willpower than you expected, it's probably 2 days' worth of WoL. You can check it in the menu under Skill -> Curses.
As for the difficulty, this is a situation where the dev balances the game for Normal and doesn't really test Hard afaik. No shame in playing on Normal.
how do you get the pink text scenes, is it just purely through low willpower? does it affect anything beyond getting to see the scene without having to use the clear orb?
I thought it would be kind of hot to have the corruption affect her more in roya, which these scenes seem to imply, but I haven't gotten a single one (probably since willpower resets so often if you play without consciously trying to tank it) and the only reason I know it exists is finding it in the clear room
Low willpower and willpower modifiers, most easily achieved with items like vitality potions or sweet memories drug. Alicia "affects" Aura's thoughts and effectively forces her in to the option, as you cannot decline them if the pink option is available. She also tends to exhibit more curiosity and enjoyment of the scene.
There are benefits, yes, as Aura receives generally double what she'd get otherwise in terms of sexual and lewdness increases. For example instead of 1 corruption, she receives two, she'll receive 2 lewdness, or lewd knowledge, or 2 breast sensitivity for example. Effectively the higher these numbers are the easier it'll be to make her perform future actions, especially pink instances.
Lewd Knowledge pink scenes are especially useful as they'll double the magic attack you're gaining from lewd knowledge. Between just two books from Roya's bookstore, you'll get 3 attack, and 4 lewd knowledge for 4 magic attack instead of 2 magic attack.
Some scenes have checks for certain fetishes as well, which are more easily reached by doubling your gains. For example in the refugee camp, the prostitute requires 5 exhibitionism to teach you her stance, which you can have 6 through just 3 interactions on day 3.
If you'd like an early game 'path' to achieve about 5 pink scenes on day 3, just ask. It's good to do imo.
The pink scenes happen when Aura has 0 effective willpower when prompted to accept/decline the scene. So it starts from her nominal willpower as seen in the status screen, and then applies other modifiers, mainly any sensitivities and fetishes that apply to the scene (e.g. Hermann scenes have Cheating) and any applicable Perversions (e.g. But It's So Cute! in any scene where Aura changes clothes).
As for what pink scenes do, other than change the text, they increase (generally double) the Corruption and sensitivity / fetish gains of the scene, and also Lewdness, although each scene has an upper limit to that (e.g. first Hermann scenes won't increase Lewdness to more than 10).
Getting pink scenes takes work at first, but gets easier and easier as Aura gets lewder and has her Willpower affected by more and more curses.
