The Handy Bluetooth Support?

The Handy has had bluetooth support for a couple of versions now; will Heresphere get Bluetooth support for it?

My internet is terrible (mobile data only, and in the country), and latency just fluctuates too much for it to ever feel synced up without a load of trial and error each time...

I also prefer to use my offline raspberry pi 4 jellyfin hotspot for streaming local content, but because The Handy has to connect to the internet, AND my Quest 2... It just complicates things.

The Handy's bluetooth communication protocol is complex. It uses protocom and protobuffers, which are difficult to integrate into Unreal Engine. Because of this, adding bluetooth support for the Handy is a lower priority. I'd recommend trying to toggle play/pause several times to see if the synchronization gets any better. HereSphere already tries to estimate the latency, but it assumes the latency is symmetric, meaning the uplink and downlink have the same latency, which might not always be the case.

Was bluetooth support ever added for the Handy?  I'm trying to connect to it but I don't get any permission pop-up when scanning for bluetooth devices.

I haven't added bluetooth support for the Handy, yet. Maybe later this year.

That's really good to hear that it's still a planned feature.
