DUGA features custom levels and by using the level editor you can make your own. If you made something interesting you want to share, you can do it here, or you can play maps made by other players.
HOW TO MAKE MAPS
There is a simple guide on how to make your own custom levels within your game. Look for a text file called "Manuals.txt". It has the necessary information on how to do it. If you still have questions, feel free to post here or contact me directly.
You can create noth custom levels and segments.
HOW TO SHARE MAPS
Your custom levels will be saved in a file called "customLevels.dat" which is found within a folder called "data". You can either share the raw text or the file (sharing the file is recommended). If you share the text, make sure you get everything (you can press crtl + A to select all the content). If you share the text, it is recommended to paste it on pastebin.com. This way it will make it easier to manage.
It has been found, that pasebin incorrectly formats the text, making it unreadable by the level editor. Therefore, I recommend uploading your own customLevels.dat to a service such as Google Drive and share the link.
HOW TO PLAY OTHER PEOPLE'S MAPS
If you want to play somebody else's custom level, you should copy the content, which they have posted and replace the content in "customLevels.dat" with it. Or, if they have uploaded a file, simply replace theirs with your own . At the moment it is not possible to merge two files, so you can collect the levels of multiple people, but if it gets requested often, I can figure something out. When the files have been managed, start DUGA and choose "custom levels" under "new game".
SAFETY CONCERNS
It is not a good idea to blindly download files from stangers online. If you want to download custom levels or segments, make sure, that the filename is either customLevels.dat or customSegments.dat and no not have any other file extention. If you are still worried, you can open up the file in a text editor. Here you will see a lot of gibberish, but a few recognizable words, such as sky_color and ground_color.
On a final note, neither DUGA nor the level editor will ever execute anything from these files. Only read and write to them.
I hope you will have fun with the tool!
