Super Brawl Showdown!

A sequel to the classic Nickelodeon fighting game, Super Brawl 2. · By GRRLWARE

I can't tell if Rico is too OP or I'm just bad at adapting to the new combat system

I keep trying to fight Rico on the campaign with Danny and keep losing. No matter what I do Rico keeps dancing around my attacks and hitting me hard with his combos. His special and anchor move also make it difficult to fight him from a distance. I think Rico may be the most broken fighter I've faced in this game so far.

Would you mind sending me a video? There are a couple of things I think it might be, including the AI, itself. Due to the way its programmed, sometimes the AI figures out a way to trigger moves that would normally be impossible because of the way it simulates the controls. either way, a video might help me better pinpoint exactly what needs to be changed.

Thankfully, Rico is already getting some big changes in the next update. Good timing in your part, haha.

I don't have any experience in recording gameplay, so I'm not quite sure how I should show proof. I'll try and figure something out though.

Also, by the time you replied I managed to go through a Danny campaign run without encountering Rico, though I still have the misfortune of running into him sometimes. As I said, I'm not very good at adapting to the combat system so that could also be part of my problem. But I digress...

If you can't, you can always try seeing what combos tend to be the most devastating/unfair and I can look into them. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what parts of the new combat system are the hardest to adjust to? I want to see if I can ease the transition a bit more for other players.

Okay, I managed to capture a fight with Rico on Arcade mode. I'm playing this match on Easy mode and still getting my butt kicked. As you can see, even when I beat him once I just barely made it. It appears that the main problem with Rico is that his punch combo enables him to whittle down your health very fast. He's also a very fast hitter, rarely giving himself an opening even on the easiest difficulty.

As for my trouble adjusting to the combat system, I think my difficulty adjusting can be summarized as me being too used to the system from the original games (which were much more simplistic than the one here) and me being overwhelmed by the more complex attack commands. I am on the autism spectrum so I have a bit of a learning disability as a result, but I'm trying my best to adapt.

(If you're wondering why I'm fighting Rico the way I am, it's because my approach to fighting in this game is to just mash the movement and attack buttons. It seems like a fatal tactic, but believe it or not, it usually works. Either way, watching myself flail about like a ragdoll makes me look like a buffoon and makes me wonder if I'm just bad at the game or if fighters like Rico are just making me look bad)

On the plus side, as you can see in the video, I figured out how to use Danny's uppercut and Ghostly Wail and decided I could just spam either attack whenever I had the opportunity.
