If possible, as a longtime Cider and Fedora user, it would be excellent to have a version of this app packaged for Fedora! If possible.

I agree! +1

(+4)

Yes, please! Fedora users want to listen to music too!

Can't you just use the app image?

(+2)

With ".rpm" package, it install properly and directly into the Software centre

(+2)

An RPM would provide more native integration with the Desktop, among other stability things. That, or a flatpak would be pretty sweet.

(+3)

Would love to have that also as a Fedora user

A flatpak does exist, but it only supports amd64. arm64 users have to compile it themselves.

Where are the instructions and the source code? I can compile a .rpm aarch64

(+2)

That's for Cider 1, not Cider 2

I thought the .pkg.tar.zst was source code, but I just realized yesterday that it is not. I’m not even exactly sure what it is…

It's a format specific to Arch Linux that contains the package archive. You would be able to upgrade the AUR package with the file, since no PKGBUILD is included, worked great for me!

ooooooohhhhhhhh gotcha. That makes sense why Fedora had no idea what to do with it.

(+1)

+1 for this! As others have said a flatpak (or better yet a private flatpak repo) would be even better!

We’ll be adding an RPM package for the upcoming 2.2.0 update! We appreciate the community feedback on the issue.

(+1)

Did the RPM download link disappear? I saw it on there not too long ago.

(+1)

it was there. i believe there was another patch?

(+1)

i’ve been told on the discord that the rpm packages have been removed from their building pipeline because it takes too long, so they’re not be available now

Developer(+2)

They’re back, just took some time off from them so we could fix the pipeline issues.

(+1)

Can you set it to allow the itch launcher to install and update the rpm app? or is that not a good solution?

(+1)

that’s great! may I ask when the .pacman files will also be available on here?
