We’ll handle config errors like this better with the Genten2 update for Mac and Linux.

As mentioned by asciidude above, running rm -rf ~/.config/sh.cider.electron

This should fix it for the time being, in the rare chance it occurs.

The fact that it’s hard crashing like that has me to believe Microsoft changed something again, we can’t reproduce it on our end which is even more irritating.

I’m not sure we have much control over this.

This could be a system related issue, as we don’t explicitly select an audio sink from our end (not that we could).

Currently we cannot support the Raspberry Pi due to lack of DRM on those platforms supported by Castlabs.

Once DRM is more widely available for developers on arm64 Linux devices, we’ll be sure to add it.

GameKuchen is correct here.

Cider uses DRM due to how MusicKit handles audio.

If you’d like to capture Cider’s audio thread, you’ll need to use an OBS plugin or something to capture it from the actual WebView2 runtime.

Hey there, Cider Connect is discontinued as of 2.5.0 due to some server side issues and lack of resources.

We will ensure this doesn’t appear again in later patch releases.

Hey there, that’s correct!

Cider 2.5.0 now has a visualizer within the Marketplace you can install!

Hey there, this is intentional behavior!

Cider 2.5.0 changes the way we originally handled backend updates, as now the backend version and frontend version are seperated!

This means your UI version could be 2.5.0 while your backend is now set to 1.0.0 on our new Genten platform.

Hope this solves any confusion.

Hey all! If you are experiencing this issue, I highly recommend seeking support in our Discord server located here

We can offer you direct one on one support over there, as these cases seem to be far in between and mostly associated with modified/debloated Windows installs.

Hey all! We’re working with AV providers to resolve these issues.

Overtime, these should become less and less relevant as our new codesigning certificate gains some new traction and a userbase to verify its authenticity with.

We appreciate your patience!

Fixed! Please install the latest hotfix update in app!

v2.4.0_1

Sorry about the inconvenience, this surprise MusicKit update was a little out of our control.

We changed the packaging format for uploading releases, I’ll add the “portable” releases to the pipeline.

(1 edit)

This is a package you would install through pacman using the -U flag, I’m not sure why you’re copying the contents to the opt/usr directories.

We’ve gone ahead and updated the installation guide to convey this information more clearly.

To be added in a later update! We’re working towards redoing our backend to accommodate features such as this one!

This is now fixed!! Sorry! Please redownload your respective dmg from Itch.io again.

Sorry about this!! We’ve reuploaded macOS builds, and Linux builds.

Sorry about that, this should now be resolved please re-download Cider from Itch.

Playlist issue should be addressed now, please download 2.3.1 from Itch.io once again.

The “Problem Connecting” window is normal for the time being and is caused by Apple’s OAuth process for some reason.

Re-added in 2.3.0, please update your application.

Arch Linux package types are now available through the Itch.io page, consider re-downloading the version suitable for your operating system / distribution.

We’ve switched to static runtimes in 2.3.0, this should no longer be an issue.

These will be available from 2.3.0 onwards.

We made a **temporary ** removal effort to prevent people from updating to a faulty version, we did not discontinue the Windows release.

These builds are now present once again, they were removed for a few minutes at most.

Please stay tuned to our Twitter/X account for future updates like these. Our Twitter

Update is now available, sorry about the delay!

Cider 2.3.0 is now available for all consumers! Sorry about the wait!

Updates will be faster to come and easier to download now, as the update process has mostly been moved in-app.

They’re back, just took some time off from them so we could fix the pipeline issues.

Please make sure WebView2 is installed correctly, it’s a dependency for Cider on Windows and if this component is missing because of it being deleted through a debloater utility or something similar it will cause apps like ours to not start.
