Hello I'm fairly new to all this game dev stuff learning as I go excited to do this!  I'd like to post some games make some buddies or something but is this place a safe place? I'd like to start somewhere you know get my stuff out there even if its BAD need some more experience any feedback from anyone to help out stuff like that I guess my actual question is this a good place to start? Or is all my stuff gonna get stolen? How does this work?

Will people steal your game? Perhaps, but first they'd have to notice it out of the 798,830+ other projects on itch.io. Getting noticed is the part most of us struggle with.

Is itch.io a great place to start? Yes. The people behind the scenes work hard to make the place as safe and friendly as they can.

Will you get great feedback? Perhaps, you'll probably need to ask, and offer something in return - like show me yours and I'll show you mine. Sometimes people offer to play your game and give you feedback, but they're often inundated with requests. It also depends on whether your game is free or not.

Thank you for the comment sounds like you know a great deal of the site I'll have to jump in!

Sometimes games get stolen, its the internet after all, anything can get stolen, make it work in your favor! I have some buttons on my main menus that open browser tabs to my patreon, itch, and other social media, so even if its stolen peeps will still be able to find me. In short if peeps steal my game and upload it else where its free advertising and proof of me being the developer built in, XD
