When I play a level with no ghost car, it runs perfectly. But when I do a level with a record set, the ghost car appears and my FPS significantly drops, making it unplayable.  I would like a solution that involves disabling the ghost car. but anything helps, thanks!

Try different browsers.
Depending on the OS you are using, some browsers work better then others.
Usually FireFox is the one with stage 60fps.
