Itch can't see the install location?

A few days ago I moved from a windows 10 laptop to a new windows 11 laptop.  I used a migration tool (Laplink PC Mover)... all my steam games work fine, but for some reason Itch is saying the install location (c:\users\[username]\appdata\roaming\itch\apps) doesn't exist... but, it definitely does.
If I manually go to the game directory in that location, I can start up the games via the .exe files... But when I open them that way, all my save games are gone.

Any idea how I fix this?

Start by checking,    if your save games are there at all.

Steam is using cload save game location, so you cannot deduce anything from steam games working.

Itch uses a dubious installation path for exe, and the games use whatever save game location they use. It is dubious, because it installs exe in appDATA .

But most games on itch are "portable". Meaning, that you unzip and run, and save game location is in relative system path, like those user directories.   So they should work. But itch is basically using the same mechanism to find the games, as the games use to find their save games. And if itch can't find the games...

Hmm... where do Itch's save games live?  I still have my old laptop, so I can definitely take a look and see if they got copied over or not!

Itch does not change save game locations. You have to check for all games separatly.

Also, Steam does not have a dedicated location either, they just sync it to cloud in most cases.
