Unable to buy game, I think because the developer is in Ukraine - any workaround?

Hi, first post here, so please be gentle with me if this has been asked before ;)

I want to buy Shmupper: https://ci8.itch.io/shmupper

Upon trying to pay with PayPal, I'm told that "This transaction has been declined to comply with international regulations."

I'm assuming this is because the developer, Vlodymyr Chaikovskyi, is Ukrainian (going by his Twitter account) and the ongoing conflict there has led to financial regulations being put in place.

I have a credit card registered as an alternative payment method, but PayPal is the only option coming up for this game.

Is there no way at all I can buy this game?

Hello. It's true. There is a problem with international regulation. I cannot pay for this game, living in France. However there is no regulation with Ukraine - only with Russia. Paypal supports people in Ukraine reducing its fee for them. I cannot clearly say what the problem is, but his account is blocked. You can ask him directly in order to know what it means. Maybe he born in Russia and he's Russian citizen ++
