Honestly I think a week is a perfect amount of time, there was a lot of burnout at the end where I technically had one more day to work on stuff. I'm personally not a fan of game jams that go on too long because then I feel like I have forever to get the project done and too short is just a stress basket. I know a lot of other Jams do that special object or whatever or release the theme closer to the actual event day or on the start of the event which could be cool(Maybe we can come up with some alternative to this for the future?). I don't want to say it was like cheating but I definitely had pretty much all my ideas of how the game was going to work like a week before I started, and I don't know if that's fair for someone else who doesn't work well unless they start making the game. But this is mostly just saying that people are different so its kind of understandable to not meet in the middle and I really just liked doing a game jam with a community of people, so I would be more willing to change up my anticipations for a future jam. I thought the theme was definitely a perfect way to jump into doing jams on the server, felt natural to do a spooky related game jam for the spooky season. Maybe you could also include a way for other creators and players to rate the game, as like a community vote. Doesn't actually have to correlate as a prize but it would be nice to know how some people feel about playing my game.
