When I clear a battle in a dungeon, there is sometimes an opportunity to hire someone. I will check the status of the character to confirm their stats (gender, traits. etc). When I hire them and go back to the Mansion, there will be a completely different person there waiting -- all new stats, different gender and race, etc.
