Hey Guys,

It's been 3 months since the last update. I haven't been able to find any details about the next coming updates. I bought this software cause if was big fan of classic. I just assumed there would be more updates or at least some bug fixes. I use the app daily and love it. Just want details on the next update or when it's coming.

If you guys have already posted about this somewhere, link me. I'm not a tech guy, so github kinda scares me. I don't know anything there, so haven't looked around.

Personally I hope this project continues and does not die. For linux users especially like myself, Cider is a godsend so to speak for accessing Apple Music! :)

I use the app everyday and love everything about it, i just want some update to fix the bugs. They can give us a feature update next year.

It’s literally the only option for Linux users apart from the website, I hope they start taking it more seriously, because I feel like the app doesn’t receive enough updates and the bug reports are ignored.

I feel like they’re treating the project like it’s still an open source non-commercial project like classic, but it no longer is, paying users deserve better service.

Exactly! As a Linux user this is beyond amazing.

Hey, Kai from the Cider Discord here!

Apologies for the huge wait time for Cider 2.3.0's release. To address the main concern of this thread, we do have a new in-app update system releasing alongside 2.3.0, which will almost entirely remove the need to wait for the builds to be released here. Instead, you will only need to watch out for the new update notification, and then update in the app itself! This will greatly reduce wait times for builds, and will also be used for those who would like to test out Beta and Alpha builds!

If you have any other concerns, feel free to head into the Cider Discord and open a support ticket, I would be more than glad to help y'all out!

Can we get access to the beta/alpha builds?

I think you have to buy a subscription on discord to get alpha/beta

Hey y'all, Kai again!

At the moment you would need to donate through either Ko-fi, OpenCollective, or purchase the Discord Subscription to get beta/alpha access. In addition, you would need to be a member of the Discord server to be able to download these builds.  You cannot use your Itch.io or Microsoft Store license to get beta/alpha access.

This all is subject to change as Cider 2.3.0 releases today (hopefully, if everything goes smoothly).

As always, if you have any other questions feel free to respond to this, open a new topic in the Itch.io forum, or open a ticket in the Cider Discord!

Cider 2.3.0 is now available for all consumers! Sorry about the wait!

Updates will be faster to come and easier to download now, as the update process has mostly been moved in-app.
