I've been having a blast with the browser version so I'm considering buying the download version but I want to know exactly what I'm buying. I have two questions:

Are there any differences between the download and browser versions? If so, what are they?
Does buying the game now also entitle me to downloads of future versions?

Currently no difference. In the next update (5.1) it will have automatic mod loading (no need to reselect mods each time). Im also planning to add multiple save slots that save to the filesystem, but thats not implemented yet, while the automatic mod loading is already developed and just needs testing.

Also, offline version can run offline if itch .io crashes :)

Yes you get all future updates if you buy the game

Current game version appears go to be 5.0.7 but the downloads say Linux Version 6 and Windows Version 31. Why don’t the Linux and Windows versions match and neither match the game version? I don’t have Windows so i want to know before i purchase if i’m getting the latest update on Linux.

I bought the game and it's the same as the windows version, seems they just added linux support I assume.
