Purchase clarification

If I pay USD$10 (ignoring sale and rounding up) I can play 1 episode further than the "free version" from another site (unnamed) or for between USD$5 and USD$6 I can join your Patreon for a "month" download episode 4 the cancel my Patreon subscription?

Let me ask you a silly question:  Why would I pay more for a lesser version of a product?  I mean ignoring the fees you pay for the service of a site selling your product or selling a subscription to your future products look at what you are asking people to pay for a single download vs. a monthly payout which can be payed once and cancelled.  Would you pay 2 times the price to get an inferior product?

Greetings!

I understand your confusion regarding our pricing and access model. Let me break it down for you:

Free Version:

We'll be releasing a free demo of the game on Itch.io. This demo will be a few episodes behind the full game (exact number to be determined).

Purchasing on Itch.io:

By purchasing the game on Itch.io, you'll gain immediate access to all released episodes and any future updates. This ensures you're always at least one episode ahead of the free demo.

Patreon Support:

Supporting us on Patreon grants you exclusive access to two additional episodes beyond the current public release. This means you'll always be two updates ahead of the free demo and one of those who purchase the game on Itch.io.

I hope this responde clarifies our model. We appreciate your interest in Celebrity Hunter and hope you'll consider joining our community. Whether you choose to purchase the game, support us on Patreon, or enjoy the free demo, we're committed to providing you with an immersive and engaging gaming experience.

Clarification:

itch.io purchase of specific episode only 1 step behind Patreon version$10.

Patreon subscribe for 10 minutes to download most current version $5.

My only question that I will repeat:  Why pay $10 for an older version when I can get a current version for $5?

I believe when you buy it on itch for $10, you're getting the next episode ahead of the free version AND all future updates.

With the Patreon version, you would have to re-subscribe every month (hence why it's a subscription) to get the most up-to-date version, which seems to be 2 episodes ahead of the free version as opposed to 1.

So yes, you would get a newer version of the game for the same price or cheaper up to the first two months, but you would have to keep paying beyond that to continue getting the most recent release.

I'm not a dev and I don't sub to their patreon so idk the full details, but I believe that's how their pricing model works. Hope it helps.
