Hi,

I just downloaded Cider and have used the app for a bit in the past, however after this new version came out I've been logged out and can't seem to actually be able to log into Cider with my apple log in. I click "Sign in" from the options and just nothing happened. I've tried uninstalling, restarting etc, but nothing.

Any ideas?

Note from Cider Developers:

This is now fixed, please install 2.4.0_1 from the updates menu.

Sucks, guess I'll have to issue a charge back or something.

Same issue here even before updating

EXACT SAME Issue!!!!  After updating to the latest.

EDIT:  Per their Discord channel, they are aware of the issue and are working on it with the logins.   There was a change with the login structure for Apple Music I guess based on their discussions there.

same issue here on linux with .deb installation

Apple has updated something that cider depends on  (how they authenticate users) which has temporarily broken auth, they are currently working on fixing it and pushing out an update.

Fixed! Please install the latest hotfix update in app!

v2.4.0_1

Sorry about the inconvenience, this surprise MusicKit update was a little out of our control.

Thank you for the quick fix.

When is this hotfix coming to Linux?

You should make the other apps updated. I had to update the app inside the app.

Is this only fixed for Windows? Latest .deb release still has the same issue.

deb is still 2.4.0, but once installed you can go into the menu -> updates and switch to  2.4.0_1 which works fine.

Ah, wonderful. Thanks for the tip.

Linux need this fix!
