Can't get it to run

Hello there!

I've been trying to run your game, but I constantly getting this dang message although I am running from the administrator account. Also ran an executable as admin and still the same result. The OS is Windows 10. Do you have any idea how to fix it? As I understand it's a Blender issue... Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Hey! Thanks for checking this out, and sorry this is happening. I've dug around and it seems this error has never been reported online, anywhere. Not surprised though as the BPPlayer is an old community-made add-on that packaged blender games to be easily playable and protected. It was years old when the game was made, and barely had documentation to begin with.

Where do you have the game stored? I'll try to replicate the issue by opening the game on my PC from a similar file path. Otherwise, all I can think of is maybe it will work when extracted to a different folder. Something like the standard Documents or Videos folder.

Hey, thanks for such a quick reply!

I dropped it directly from the rar archive to C:\Games

Hello again!

Just wanted to update you that placing the game to the standard folders haven't worked for me and then I started to think of other possibilities. My admin name is using non-latin symbols, so I thought maybe that's the reason. I created the second account with latin letters, placed the game inside the Documents folder there and it worked!
P.S: I was even able to get it to run at 3840x2160 and with a native HDR + Nvidia Reflex, haha. Works like magic!

Ayyye! Thanks for coming back to report your fix! I would have never figured that out myself. & WOW thats gotta look crispy, even I havent seen it with that quality lol. I'm curious though. Since the film grain scaling in this game is actually tied to the render resolution, higher res meaning finer grain; I imagine the grain overlay becomes much finer or harder to see at 3840x2160, while the 3D models become clearer?

Yeah, the grain becomes barely visible and the models and textures are much more clear. The segment with darkness and the lighter looks mindblowing in HDR with the pipeline remastering in 8-bit, 10-bit and 11-bit render passes! It just looks overall insane on the quality OLED display, haha. The only thing I wasn't been able to figure out is how to change the aspect ratio, I'm too dumb for this :)

Anyway, I streamed it on my channel on YT (although in 720p cause I feel sorry for my PC in the summer heat), the recording is saved. Thank you for making this small, but very atmospheric masterpiece! Your voice acting is way over the original and is real good :)

Whoa sorry I missed this reply! That sounds amazing & I'd love to see it like that, I'll have to get an OLED screen at some point!
Thank YOU! Your time and appreciation means a lot!
