Look, I have some 46 hours in this game and will probably clock more because it's really the only game that seems to match Luftrausers in design. Pity you don't have as good music.
There is a huge list of problems with this game that seem obvious, I don't quite understand how they got through even the most alpha of builds.
1. Virtually every weapon in the game is terrible and they appear at half the rate of artifacts. I can list maybe three weapons I am actively interested in using (Nano wire, war hammer, tracking exploding flachettes), everything else is so bad at killing the enemy you might as well take the red ship and smash into things to do more effective damage.
2. Most artifacts don't do enough to actually be meaningful. So far the best artifacts I have found involve reducing prices at the store, increasing loot counts, and the one that lets you open a free crate. Everything else is situational at best, useless normally, and sometimes detrimental at worst.
3. Difficulty scaling is so out of whack it's beyond comprehension. Some bosses in rounds are vastly more difficult than others, some are a laughable joke to fight.
4. Some weapons are locked behind an endless mode that instead of being accessible on the main menu, you need to beat the game a second time to access. This is just a level of stupid game design that should get to thrown out of the industry.
5. SRM gain is inconsistent. When something good does appear, you rarely have the money for it unless you bank for the whole round. Some rounds missions are so starved for SRM that you will never get it.
6. All weapons are melee weapons, the actual melee weapons are the only truly good weapons. Because you refuse to make any bullet in this game travel at any acceptable speed, OR the bullet spread is so consistent, you are forced to shoot enemies at super close range. Like I said, most weapons are useless in this game, but at least you can get super close and all melee weapons function the same with every click.
7. No upgrade mechanics. Obviously some weapons can be purchased with attributes, but they never are allowed to gain them in the game.
8. SRM has no meaningful value. I can't count the number of times I saved up 600 SRM to open a triple weapons box, only to find three tier 2 weapons in it.
9. A complete lack of explanation on how "cool" works.
10. This is the most critical failing. mouse cursor trapping doesn't work which means if you have more than one monitor or are playing in windowed mode, you are fucked. This alone should have your hands smashed with a hammer so you can't program again.
