I'm obviously aware of Cart Life since launch, but for some reason seeing this project happen has been even more special.
Early Access on itch.io, of an incredibly niche concept, executed to this scrutiny... For me, you elevated a typing game into a cozy place I can escape to NOT in a fantasy game-type way, but in the same way having a good balcony in your house lets you escape from the mundanity of life sometimes, just to sit and feel complete peace. It's really special.
I know if I went back in time and interacted with my grandpa's typing machine for the first time, or open an ancient typing software I can't remember the name of again on my granny's pc they would make me feel a slight slant towards what this game evokes to me... But it wouldn't pale in comparison with it, it's as if these feelings became as real as in my exaggerated memories in front of my screen.
I have absolutely no clue if the unhingedness of the way you develop projects and absolute class and magical elegance/substance in their execution comes from hellish personal stuff, I will never know nor try to look for the answer. I'm just glad it happened. I've met developers in pain, or peril whose work I find similarly miraculous, so just in case I'm sending all my love to you.
It's such an inspiration.
