Disclaimer. I'm using the latest version of Jav-It as I just installed it. I'm on Windows 10. However nothing is working.
So I just downloaded this program. After unzipping it I see four files, Dictionary, jav-it, jav-it_gui, and README. Went to README first. Tried first by clicking "jav-it" and it wouldn't even start up.  Tried using "jav-it_gui" at first and my antivirus was at fault. So I turned it off.
So I go to  "jav-it_gui" again.  Not mentioned in the README at all, it asks me to Select Terminal Resolution. Now, no matter what I input, whether its 1, 2, or 3. I get this (attached photo).

Hi there,

Thanks for the kind inquiry! Jav-It is primarily a command line interface tool, so you will need some knowledge about command line interfaces to get the most out of it (that's why double clicking it does not launch anything). That being said, the GUI is just fine for getting people introduced to the simplest options. The reason why your getting graphical glitches is because your computer is  likely running on a non-English locale. To fix this, simply perform the following:

1. Open the jav-it_gui.bat file in a text editor (eg Notepad++ ).

2. Create a new line at line 1 and add the line "chcp 65001" to it.

3. Save the file and run again by double clicking it.

After this, your terminal window should display the GUI correctly.

Alright. So I got the Notepad++ program. Now. Before I even attempt anything, I wanna make sure to get this right the first time. Per your second instruction, should it look like this before Save? (attached photo)

Thanks.

No, step two says:

Create a new line at line 1
and add the line "chcp 65001" to it.

So it should look like:

chcp 65001
jav-it.exe gui

echo... etc...

I got it going now. I'll be back with more questions should they arise.
