Can't start game since the 8.0d update

I have been playing 8.0a/b and c always upgraded when available and when I upgraded to 8.0d the game now refuses to start. It's constantly in start up but freezes according to taskmanager, yet it doesn't crash. After 2 minutes everything on my pc suddenly gets choppy and laggy so I have to terminate it with taskmanager, if I don't have taskmanager open at that point I have to shut down my pc as it's too laggy to open task manager, it tries to open it but taskmanager then freezes. All other versions of 8.0 work fine, only 8.0.d has that problem I tried deleting and redownloading here 4 times by now it it happens every single time.

Even in 8.0.c I had 30-50 fps depending on settings and ran fine, but I haven't seen anyone having that problem so I really don't know what to do.

have you tried the latest version yet?

I figured out the problem, if you have too many assets in the assets folder the game will slow down massively once a certain threshold is hit. It doesn't matter how big the files are, only the amount matters, I had a tons of obj. data files and around 250 images which caused the game to basically refuse to start.
I didn't notice at first as I added the images and then went to sleep, and then the newer version came out so I installed it an deleted my old installation . So when I started the game I assumed the problem was caused by the new version.

Me and someone else form the discord eventually figured it out as we had the same problem, their first conclusion was that it was a 1GB cut off point, but when I checked I was only at 400mb with my full set up , even when I deleted most the game still took long and I was at 250mb. They ha dno problem until around 1GB, so we concluded that the number of files caused trouble as some of his images were not optimized and took 20-30 mb per images while most of mine only took 3-4 mb.

oh that's weird, at one point i had like 300+ videos on my TV and a lot of files in my printer folder and i never got such issue
