What Research did You Do on PTSD?

Hi, I am currently working on a conference presentation about the representation of mental illness in video games. I think Fractured Mind is a very good example of displaying the symptoms of mental illness/PTSD in a realistic way without stigmatizing the victim.  I therefore am looking forward to use it as a positive example in the presentation.
Could answer me some question, so I have more background infos?

The background story and info you provide is already very rich. What research did you do on PTSD or the topic in general? Did you consider the experiences of patients? In what way did your research affect your level design and aesthetics?

Hello, Calexico.

Honestly, and this might be shameful to admit, I have done close to no research on PTSD. I just went with what basic knowledge I had on PTSD and just followed my heart as how to best represent it in my game. I thought about how I would feel if I was in Michael's shoes and went with that. I am really happy to hear some of you guys say that I managed to convey that feeling accurately, without insulting or belittling actual PTSD victims.

I'm sorry I couldn't provide you with actual research to help you out with your presentation, but if you have any question I'd be happy to answer them.

I hope the full game will live up to your expectations as well.

God bless and good luck with your project!

Thanks for your quick reply.

Your basic knowledge seems to be quite profound 馃槃.  I mean, your Mental Health Evaluation Report appears overall well thought trough and refers to real medial classifications, approaches and such.
If it's AI-based, this is totally fine.

Well honestly I did use the AI to generate a blank "medical form" and I filled in the details myself (I kinda hate using AI but it's still a useful tool..). Only because I couldn't find a mental health evaluation form online that I was happy with.
