I'd like to know if there is such a setting so that when you zoom in on a video, the video doesn't cover up the menu or start to clip through it. I've searched and haven't found anything like this, or anybody asking about it. It's not a major issue, but does get annoying that you have to remember to zoom back out or the video covers the menu,

You could try reducing the menu distance so it's closer to you. In the user settings, under the menu group, adjust the menu distance setting. There are also key bindings to adjust the flat screen video distance (default key binding is moving thumbstick up/down when the menu is hidden) in case you have trouble interacting with the menu when the video is overlapping it.
