We are Staś & Michał , together know as Piesku. We make games together since 2015, mostly for various game jams. Some of our productions are also available here on itch, most popular so far being Time Is Money idle clicker we built in mid 2020.
It's been a little over half a year since we started working on our roguelike deckbuilder, Millennials. It's a "composition army" type of game, where you build powerful synergies and crazy combos with cards of characters inspired by the movies, TV series, and games from our childhood - late '80s and early '90s.
The game mechanic is super simple:
- Drag & drop with your mouse.
- Each turn you have 1 more Energy to play your cards. A battle lasts 6 turns.
- Buy cards with Energy, by drag&dropping them to locations.
- Score more points than your opponent across all 3 locations.
- Earn gold for each location that you win, spend it in the market to prepare for the next battle.
Cards are built from 6 elements:
- Cost indicator - how much Energy you need to play the card
- Power level - how powerful the card is
- Rarity - how probable is to find this card in the market
- Name - hopefully lawsuit-proof name of a character from our childhood
- Image
- Action/Effect - what the card is doing, when and how
The game screen is built from several elements:
If the action on the screen is hard to follow, or happens too fast, the Log should help in understanding what is going on.
Earlier this week we decided to publish the first playable version here, after rewriting it from scratch for the js13k games competition last month. We spent the time since the compo to add more cards (right now it is 91 playable characters + 15 villains and support cards), more features, and fix bugs. We plan to publish updates weekly, with the first major one released yesterday (Changelog: Week 29).
We opened a Community Area for ideas, feature requests, bug reports, and basically everything else. Feel free to step by and say 'hi'!
