I'm sharing a cozy tune I've been working on last week. It's part of a re-score for the video game TOEM.

Lately (due to gamejams) I've been experimenting and creating a lot more music that evokes calm emotions and helps to generate a relaxing experience for the player.

Often when I experiment with music, I end up with more questions than answers! So I'm curious to know what your approach, techniques or resources are when creating this type of music. Even if the person reading this is a dev, Do you choose music based solely on how it feels in-game? Do you have specific criteria?

Thank you so much for your time!!

Nice music there bro!

When I create music for games or inspired by some sort of video game, I usually listen to a whole bunch of music from a certain theme or specific games that I am trying to base my music on. So for instance, with my album "Video Game" (I think it's called), I referenced a whole bunch of Ratchet and Clank music and Jak & Daxter soundtracks, even going so far as to literally research how the Artists drew their ideas up, like where they got their sounds from, etc. So I did the same of course. Literally went out of my way to use the exact samples they used for my music.

So yeah, a lot of referencing. I really like the pluck instruments in that cosy soundtrack you showed man. Good stuff! ^_^
