Duplicates is a 3D belt-scroll beat ‘em up.

  • It is a single player game with two levels.
  • It employs a vigilante crime fighting plot with the action taking place on city streets.
  • Before the game begins, you can choose between two main characters, each having their own attributes.
  • Use arrow keys to move, space bar to jump, z or x to attack, or c to defend.
  • Items such as weapons, health recovery items and items rewarding extra points can be picked up. Most of these items will be hidden inside of destroyable objects which stand out so that the player can notice them
  • The player goes through a level, one section at a time, defeating a group of enemies before advancing to the next section. I use a hand with a pointing finger icon to show when you can proceed.
  • Health gauges for both player and enemy characters are displayed.
  • The game is inspired by '90's 2D belt-scroll beat ‘em up games namely Final Fight (1989), Streets of Rage (1991) and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (1993) but I wanted to put a 3D twist on it.
