There are two things Id love to see from Itch that would make my page better. Currently you cannot click the custom banner to go back to the home page. This is a problem because there is no real noticeable/easier way to get back there once a user clicks on a sub-item from the home page

Secondly, the homepage does not have two backgrounds like all the subpages which makes the design feel disjointed. I’d love to see it so that the homepage theme has both BG1 and BG2 like the subpages.

Lastly, I’d love to be able to apply the theme to all subpages with a single click. Currently, I have to go into each subpage and change the same setting over and over again, not a good use of my time, nor smart.

We can do better. Let me know your thoughts!

Is this a translation issue? I do not understand what you are talking about. The site features you describe do not work like you describe them.

What is the "home page"? What is the "custom banner"? What is a "sub item" on the home page? What backgrounds are you talking about?

And if your browser does settings for each subpage, this is the what your browser does. And what theme are you talking about?

The home page is itch.io. And it does not have a background. The only sub pages are either games or browse/devlogs etc. And games only have one background, depending on the developer. The other pages have none. If you talk about hover screenshots, those are two max or none when you view a game from a profile. The button to go back to the home page is the icon on the upper left. And this icon stays there. The site changes appearances depending on the screen resolutions. You can try this by resiszing the window or changing zoom.

Home page being my profile page. And if you compare the theme setting for the profile page and its sub/project pages you’ll see that there’s only one bg available for the main profile page but two for sub/project pages.

Secondly if you click on a project page there’s no easy way to go back to the profile page and I think at least an option to make the banner function this way would be beneficial.

Your profile is not my home page. Nor is it the home page of your customers. Going back to your home page does not make much sense. We are browsing Itch, not your subdomain.

Also, people do not start on that page. There are no pages that link to profiles. The browse and search link to projects. And from there you can visit the profile if and only if the project's developer has more than one project. There appears a View all by ... button next the follow button.

Also, what do you mean with two bg? One is a banner and the other is a background and both your project's themes and your profile theme have that.

By “home page”, I assume you mean your profile page? and by “subpages/sub-items”, I assume you’re referring to the individual project pages?

As for the clickable banner taking users back to your profile page, I don’t think that would make much sense. There’s already a link to your profile page in the user tools at the top-right corner.

It’s literally how every other website in the world works. If you click their logo or banner at the top it takes you back to the home page. And yes that is what I meant by home page and subpages.
