Simply put wondering if stuff like the bunny tf will ever have an alternative, a more gameplay centric transformation that doesn't just give a gameover, i seen you talking about npcs that retain their sense of self so i figured why not the player in some situations? would make the game stand out more from other 2d based tf games that are mostly just game over only like mystic knight mia.
so the answer to this question is complicated. there are some significant technical limitations as to why I cant directly do that. the reason being is that I would have an exponential growth of sprite variations I would need to make in order for that sprite to have interactions with the enemy's . for each humanoid enemy i make 4 sprites for tf and 4 sprites with vore usually. if there was a curse sprite of the player, then I need to make all the animations associated with both male and female players, then make 4 more variations of the tf and vore scene with that new sprite. so this workload become completely unfeasible. however, i think i might be able to strike a middle ground, since it seems to be a feature people really want. in the next update I'm doing a lot of improvements and polishing before we move on to new content. so one of the thing i have prepped is a vanity slot. how it will work is that you equip a item in vanity, and it changes the players sprite to a alt costume. weather it be new clothing, or an illusion which makes you take on the appearance of one of the cursed. however if the player is grabbed they revert to there normal appearance during animations. that way you can be cursed in a technical sense, without my workload on this project destroying me when it comes to sprites. who knows, I might do special scenes with the player that only activate if they have alt outfits on too since that would be neat. however this I a huge maybe. I need to completely rework the players sprites to even do that in a efficient manor. I have a conceptual idea of how this might be achieved so hopefully if that goes well then it might be in the game. no but it no guarantee.
Something else you could do is make them non-permanent forms as a sort of debuff and make it so if the player leaves the area they go away. That way instead of having to make animations for a cursed form for every enemy in the game, you'd only need it for the enemies specifically in that area. For extra clarity I'll elaborate on an example just in case: if you had a slime tf that wasn't game over you'd need sprites for if a slime grabbed the player while they're in slime form, but the second the player leaves the room they lose the slime form and no other creature in the game needs to be able to interact with the players slime form, thus saving much time and effort for a very similar effect.
