We are looking for talented developers to help build a custom 3D game engine based on OpenGL that will be flexible, easy to use, and suitable for creating games across various genres. The engine will be optimized for personal projects, with the potential to be used as an open-source solution. The physics will be simplified, but the focus will be on creating a solid foundation for developing games of all types.

About the Project:

  • Objective: Develop a 3D game engine using OpenGL that is modular, efficient, and easily extendable for different genres of games.
  • Core Features:
    • Rendering based on OpenGL
    • Simplified physics (basic collision and response)
    • Audio management
    • Input handling
    • Scene graph system for managing game entities
    • Lightweight architecture for developers

Roles We Are Looking For:

  • C++/Python Developers: Experience with C++ or Python. You will work on the core engine components, including rendering, input handling, and simplifying the core engine systems.
  • 3D Graphics/Shader Developers: Experience with writing shaders and creating 3D assets. You will work on materials, textures, and lighting setups within the engine.
  • Engine Tool Developers: Develop tools to make the engine user-friendly, such as scene editors and script integration.

Hi, Amckinator.

I think I am the person you are looking for. I am a C++ and Python Developer that has quite the experience with it. Specifically, you are looking for a programmer that can make your custom game engine, and I think I'd be able to do it, because I have made a game engine myself. Primarily, I am experienced more with C++, but Python is also my strong suite. My very own custom game engine framework is published on my GitHub page and is still under development.
