Super Mario Bros. 2 (U) 3-D! A REVIVAL!

New Year.  New projects.  New 3DSen possibilities.

I have returned, yet again and I've had a chance to look over comments and one of them that came up was about the Super Mario Bros. 2 USA profile.  One of the eldest Work-in-Progresses around here, it hasn't received an update since pretty close to the board's conception.  That said...I think it was about high time this one got finished.  So I took a look at Ness_and_Sonic's profile, ran though it a few times...and then completely started from SCRATCH.  And low and behold over the course of January, I've given it...the EXTREME DEPTH MAKEOVER.

Super Mario Bros. 2.  (U) needs no introduction.  Back in 1988, this was the follow-up to Nintendo's big breakout hit,  Super Mario Bros.  A whole three years after the original.  But little did we Americans know this was NOT actually Super Mario Bros. 2 as Japan knew it but a reskinned platformer based on the game, Doki-Doki Panic also known by the name Dream Factory.  With sprites and music tinkered with and a new story in place, this was ready to ship in anticipation of Mario Madness.  And it sold like hotcakes with no one questioning the difference in play mechanics.  We were just happy to play as Luigi without it being a 2-player alternating game and as Toad and the Princess...well...at all.

I now submit for your approval, a fairly polished prototype with minor Z-alignment issues due to workaround using the Multi-Platform Depth script and some slight Overlap Script weirdness...the overall package is looking within my standards and playable if a bit challenging due to Luigi's very slippery air controls and overpowered jumps.  (Maybe I should have gone through as Princess Toadstool...)

Anyway.  platforming issues called for inventive solutions, reskinning assets, and sacrificing minor things like the flashing effect on the characters when the Invincible Star is in effect.

So from start to finish, please read the descriptions in the video links if you view them on my YT page for development notes.  Otherwise, this will be a down-and-dirty, in-your-face of the videos and not much in the lines for details.

Please note the current profile may be more polished than what is shown in the videos.  Some final polishes and removal of some multi-platform script along with a couple more sprite overhauls have since been done.

So here-we-goooo!
