Four years ago, CR00T_R0M began work on his own take on a 3-D Mega Man profile. At some point I decided to collaborate and finish his vision and begin what I later coined as my "EXTREME DEPTH" style.
The result wasn't too shabby. It had its obvious flaws and awkward looking large-scale 3-D sprites (there's just nothing anyone can do with that Yellow Devil). And we put it out there and it's still available.
So while I was working on Super Mario Bros. 2 (U) 3-D...I got to thinking...would it be too ambitious to attempt a sequel?
Well...before I game myself a definitive answer...I got to work on it anyway, practically doing an all-nighter around the time I was working on world 4-2 for SMB2(U) 3D. And I came up with a Bubble Man stage that wasn't too terrible. And from there...I just went all out.
While I have still yet to work out a lot of issues and it seems the latest 3DSen on Steam has something odd about the camera that affects even the UI, I still came up with an unpolished prototype that for the most part...works.
However, there is still much I have left to learn as I still do not understand enough to get the gears to rotate in Metal Man's stage without getting chopped in half and spinning all whopper-jawed; where geod's profile stops them in their tracks on the sides of the screen before they get...ugly.
I had to come up with makeshift solutions in order to achieve a "tube" effect for Heat Man's lava-filled sewer. And boy oh boy did it take a lot of assets to get the Pico-Pico-Kun block room to behave. But...here's the result of what I put together, so far...with Dr. Wily stages to be recorded as the whole profile but only the first eight stages have videos. I'll see if I can polish this one up over time before it's ready to join its predecessor in the Repository. So here goes:
