Im doing this quest as a Spanish privateer and I came to the point of tracking down Henri d'Estres in Tortuga. I went to Tortuga, entered with a trade license, then talked to the servant in his house, he told me to run outside as his master was outside. I get out, there is a specific NPC there. From what I understand, he is supposed to run away when I get near. But that doesn't happen. He just stands there and I cant talk or interact with him in any way as in the screenshot. So the quest cant continue. How to get around this bug?

Im wondering if its because I just paid the 500,000 the governor told me to go and find in Roc Brasiliano's treasure quest before this one. I didn't go search the treasure, I just paid it and moved on to the next quest.

I loaded an earlier save to do the Roc Brasiliano's treasure quest properly by searching, in case not having searched the treasure may have bugged the game out. But this time, Im not able to get the money that is in the treasure chests when I find one. I went to the one in Cuba, and there are two Gold entries in the chest. And its not possible to take the gold from the chest. When you click on any separate gold entry, it shows your own gold with 0 amount in the chest. So you cant get to the 150,000 gold in the chest and take it.

I think you will have to send me two save files so I can try to figure out what the conflict is.  Send me a save at that earlier save at that chest (the game you said you said you reverted to, earlier) and also the later one when you went outside to talk to the NPC.

I got around this by using F11 -> F7 and moving onto the next quest line. I just want to be able to capture cities for myself and Spain. I really am not interested in any n nation quests or important quests. Though even though I finished the quest to capture La Vega and have an option in the Governor-general dialog to give a city to Spain, the game still did not let me capture Port Royale though - the governor had no dialogue option to take over the city for myself when I took the town. Does it require completing the 'kill the beggars quest or something? Or Port Royale just cant be captured?
