Cave is the perfect engine... one issue

I think that if a game engine is made truly "for the developers to make games easier," it shouldn't be so expensive (and should at least have a demo). You originally had this up for free, so why not continue (and if you don't feel like it, can I still download the old version for free)?

Hi, thank you for the interest in the engine. The period where it was free was a very good experiment to see that it is very hard to maintain the engine that way. So the future of Cave was either get completely closed (meaning that only us at Uniday Studio would be able to use it and no one else) OR have this small price that would allow us to alocate time and resources here in the studio to handle the public version.

In the end, that was the right choice. The results were VERY positive and the engine is already seeing the results of it with new features, quality of life improvements and more. Community is growing nicely also, with lots of cool games and projects being developed in it.

Once again, thank you for being around!

thanks for telling me. I totally understand why an engine like this should be payed for.

I’m assuming this means I’m unable to get any older engine versions?
