So rn my game voxel2d is like every other 2d minecraft clone but mine lacks a featue infinite world generation, so now adding infinite world gen to my game will be like nearly impossible because of how complex the code and stuff has gotten now, so now im thinking what if i reamek the entire game from scratch, and make it better than it is now

so what do yall say?

going full circle, are we.

you made a 2d volume-pixel game by name. and now want to make it 3d.

making your 2d minecraft clone into a 3d game, makes your game a regular minecraft clone.

is this a good idea? depends. if you included stuff to make it fun in 2d, will those things work in 3d? my guess is, that some people like your game because it is not another 3d clone of minecraft.

yea, true

thanks. good luck with your conversion back into the third dimension.

i suggest you have a look at this https://www.luanti.org first, so you do not reinvent the wheel. they do have an actual voxel engine. i believe your game should have something they do not have. might be something simple, like being a simpler game or a mechanic. but in direct competition, there are many minecraft-like games.

k, ill take a look

Its terraria in early access but its ok
Some suggestions:

  • Save tool
  • bigger world
  • better crafting (I cant see the  right crafted item in my hotbar)
  • better inventory (where you can move stuff)
  • debug option cords are buggy

hope this suggestion will help you :)

thanks for your feedback ill try adding those,  the inventory glitch you said i have like a extended inventory in game like if you press 'e' it opens it up, didn't you see the crafted item there if not then its probably a bug.

nope I didnt

thats probably why you didnt see the crafted item.
