i am a game dev and i have been getting review/bombed and unhinged crazy threats in discord dms and just absolute nonsense thrown at me
i am sure some of these anti NTR guys love my game and want to keep every stroyline straight but i cant do that ( there are only 3 ntr scenes in game and most of them avoidable )

but even if i want to add ntr i shouldnt be getting threats for it ? i mean WTF the crazy threats i get and the crazy talk i have on my discord dms is just insane ( life threats/ abuse / false fabricated shit/review bomb) this is insanity

anyway is there solution for me to get rid of these bad reviews which are clearly done by one unhinged anti-ntr group

Lol, more and more fake reviews… All these profiles are locked, so you can’t even check their activity.

And just like that, a sudden wave of 1-star reviews—right after someone threatened this would happen if I didn’t make the game according to their demands.

Honestly, if they’re putting this much effort into making fake profiles just to review bomb, it only proves they’re invested in the game. But this kind of toxic behavior is pathetic, and I won’t give in....

What’s worse is how easy it is to manipulate itch.io—just a couple of people can have a massive impact on a game’s rating. Thankfully, I don’t rely on this platform.

Hopefully, itch.io improves its moderation in the future before more small devs even consider focusing on it.

i would not know what a locked profile is. you cannot view non public activity on any profile. those profiles do not use the same display name as their profile name. just like you do. your profile name is bladeseven and not blade7. and if you got a 404 by clicking on their names, those profiles might actually already be in the process of being deleted. itch will remove fake ratings, but it was said, that they remove those in bulk and not individually.

and as it was also said you should not post usernames of real users. https://itch.io/post/7586962 . why only protect your good ratings? those were made on the same day, maybe they are fake! i said that to illustrate that it being a 1 star rating is not proof for a fake rating. same as two 5 star ratings on the same day are not proof for you improving your rating with fake ratings.

the problem with your case is the straisand effect and the fact that some people really do not like your content. they have the same right to vote it down as people liking it have to vote it up. the real measure of your popularity is your follower count. some things here hint that you have fake ratings and with your discord threads it is likely. but it is unlikely that your game only has good ratings. give itch time to sort out the real accounts. as i understand it, they do not remove the ratings, but remove the whole accounts.
