Use this thread to report on any bugs that you've come across. Please include the version of After Effects you're using, your GPU and GPU-Driver, and any associated crash dumps that you can provide!

You might have a crash log file in this folder:

C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\(Version)\logs

This log provides detailed contextual information surrounding the event of a crash and is invaluable in addressing what causes it. Be sure to include it in your bug report!

Hey SebastianGiardino! Thanks for the bug report.

Can you give me a some more context on your system specs(particularly, your GPU and if you have the latest drivers for it) and what version of After Effects you are using exactly? What After Effects error are you seeing exactly when you drag and drop it onto your composition?

Hi. My AAE crashes when I'm try to stop playback. Also, there are no crash if I let cache all frames in work area
My scene is 1920x1080 and not really many layers
AAE CC 2019, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, Driver version 25.21.14.1967
Here is crashreport - https://pastebin.com/BXRBpbRc

Do you need any other info?

Thank you for the crash report and detailed info! This gives me precisely what I need to look into this and figure out what is wrong. Looks like I wasn't handling "cancelling" a render properly!

Should be fixed in the next build!

Hi! I updated today and  Fringe doesn't start anymore. Earlier beta worked, quite stabile.

When I try to use Fringe on Comp,  Adjustment layer or anything else, window pops up with this text: "After Effects error: Invalid filter ( 25 :: 3 )".

Nothing happens after that. No error log in folder that You described, Wunkolo.

My rig:  Win 10 64-bit 1903, AE 16.1.2, AMD Vega 56,  Radeon Drivers 19.8.1 (latest)

Cheers

Thank you for the report! To isolate the issue: Which beta in particular had you downloaded that worked fine for you until updated? My recent change was Inf/NaN issues, and the one before that was a fix for 16 bit color issues.

Do you remember approximately when you downloaded the stable build that had worked for you before?

Just updated the itch.io download! Try it now! It looks like I uploaded a version with debug symbols in it.

Sorry for late reply!

I have tried this new non-debug version and it works :)

I made some test comps with multiple instances of Fringe on top of each other and bunch of other effects. All works very fast (8, 16, 32 bit..all work, no issues so far). It is incredibile to see that kind of performance in AE. And on top of that quality of image produced by Fringe is superb.

If I will encounter any problems down the road, I will report.

Cheers

That's great! So glad it works for you now. Glad to know that it works pristine on an AMD Vega 56! I've been meaning to get some testing done on more AMD configurations so this is very valuable info!

Lemme know if you run into any more bugs, or suggestions!

Ok Wunkolo, thanks!
