So I figured why not start an experimental thread where you tell a story using only pictures, and the comments of other people paint the narrative. A little like Broken Picture Telephone, but only with the commentary part. As for the pictures, I'm using screenshots made using the ReShade framework (common to all sorts of modding communities for stuff like this) because I wanted to go for a more, hmm I guess psychedelic art style fits? Anyway, here goes:

Chapter 2:

To be continued???

Edit: I made a guide for getting screenshots like this: http://imgur.com/a/WRaYx

Edit 2: Feel free to tell your own story too! I don't want to leave anyone out who has something specific in mind. ;-)

I wish I knew how to get in-game images like these >.<

I can write the storyline if you want!

Yeah that was kind of how I was picturing it. The software is available here: https://reshade.me/#download - As for screen-capping software there are some nice free ones available from Nvidia and AMD, but there are some old shareware standbys like FRAPS, or freeware stuff like lightshot. - Since all of the pictures I posted are direct links, you can copy their link address and re-paste them to comment on individual shots, or to do more than one is fine. Since all are loaded off the same server they shouldn't increase page load times. But yeah, I would love to hear what story my pictures tell, and I would love to see some other stories in pictures too! :-)

It was a regular day in the Danger Zone Arena (Pretty inconvenient location for a big entertainment area), Commentatron was setting up advertisements, Analysis-Bot was trying to grab things, despite not having any limbs, and The Emperor of Robots was admiring his neon and yelling at Analysis-Bot for stealing his lines (No one ever announces the difficulty tiers other than The Emperor)...

(Commentatron) Alright, next human!

(Analysis-Bot) Hmmmm...

Name: Jonathan Palen

Age: Ummm... 27?

Favorite Color: BRING THE HAMMER UPDATE ALREADY!

Occupation: Bugfixer/Game tester

3 Bronze Levels later...

(Jonathan) Alright! Silver Tier, now the real fun begins...

Jonathan went up the elevator, upon arising the mysteriously flying text that said "Silver" appeared.

(Analysis-Bot) Yay! We got to Sliver Tier!

(Emperor) Foolish commentator, I announce the difficulty tiers!

(Analysis-Bot) Sorry.

The level the Constructor Bots set up was the one with "cute hills" (Robot's definition on "cute" is kind of weird), it had some MK1 Sword Robots and MK1 Combat Archers.

(MK1 Combat Archer) Human spotted! Engaging...

(MK1 Sword Robot) CHARGE BLINDLY AND DON'T DODGE ANYTHING!!!

(Jonathan Palen) I wonder if they'll get smarter someday. Meh, probably not. *cuts a MK1 Combat Archer's legs*

(MK1 Sword Robot) SURPRISE, FAULTY MOTHERBOARD!

The MK1 Sword Robot jumped up the hill and cut the top of Jonathan's head off.

One clone and one level later...

(Commentatron) Analysis-Bot, this is that level with the mountains and jump pads!

(Analysis-Bot) Those are not mountains! They are artificial platforms!

(Emperor) Still, they are artificial mountains, human analyzer!

Jonathan went up the elevator once again, this time, there were three different platforms, the lower one contained MK1 Sword Robots, the second one had MK2 Combat Archers and Sword Robots on its summit, and the tallest one had a not-so-mighty Spidertron 5000 on the top.

(MK1 Sword Robots) Human detected! Engaging!

Jonathan fought the Sword Robots, but, during the fight, a spiked bomb fell in the middle of the robots.

(Jonathan) Oh, no, not this again...

The spiked bomb exploded, as the robots were launched everywhere, Jonathan only suffered mild damage, while the MK1 Sword Robots weren't that lucky...

After climbing the platforms and killing the MK2 Robots, the moment of truth came, Spidertron fired bombs at Jonathan, but he was WAY more agile than the Arachnid Bomber Automaton!

(Jonathan) ARGH! WHAT THE!?

A bomb had pierced his chest plate! It was now stuck, and he couldn't remove it, the bomb would explode soon, he rushed into Spidertron.

(Jonathan) I will go down, but I'll bring my enemy with me!

After slashing Spidertron's head crystal, the automaton started breaking apart, and exploded violently, Jonathan was reliefed, until he realized the bomb was still stuck to his chest.

BOOM! The bomb went off, and Jonathan's robot exploded, severe damage was inflicted, the robot's lights were starting to faint.

(Jonathan) Mission... accomplished... *shuts down*

(Commentatron) Boom!

(Analysis-Bot) Awww... I was liking that human.

(Commentatron) Next human.

(Analysis-Bot) Yay!

I was smiling the whole time while reading that :-) That made my morning, thank you!

That's totally the kind of response I was envisioning, so it's a perfect first story!

-Cheers

P.S. I made an imgur album outlining how to download, install and setup reshade. I appended it to my first post ;-)

Wait, morning? In which country do you live? It's 3pm here..

Welp, time zones are weird :P
