macOS Catalina compatible version?

Hi, I love the art style and would love to check out the demo, but I'm using Catalina. Any chance for a compatible demo? When I try to launch the current mac version, it just says the app cannot be opened.

Developer

Hey thanks for the post! And sorry to hear you're not able to run the demo. Unfortunately, this is a security issue that Catalina forces on its users, and it requires apps to be verified (or "notarized" as they call it) before the computer will run the program. That's a process we sadly don't have time to go through for this demo, but we're looking for a workaround to help our Mac-using friends. Once the game is finished and released, however, it will play nicely with Mac, for sure. :)

Here's a workaround that seems recent and fairly easy to implement. Would love to hear if this works for you.

I just tried the link to bypass Gatekeeper for Mac OS Catalina. Unfortunately, does NOT work. Not sure why.

Catalina has been a huge problem for everyone, from what I gather. Even Steam has some disclaimers about running certain programs on Mac Catalina. We'll be working to fix the issue by the time we finish Aquamarine.

Thanks for replying and being upfront about the situation. I hope it isn't too difficult to fix. Can't wait for the game and best of luck! :)

Thanks for the clarification, I'll wait patiently then. Good luck with the development!

I know this is an old topic, but Aquamarine should now be fully playable on Mac OS :)
