Starting my first game, could you give some feedback?

Hi, a few days ago I posted about my story as a webdeveloper changing lanes completely to indie gamedev and was starting to make devlogs to be able to get feedback as I build my games and to learn with everyone in the process...

There was a guy who pointed out that the fact that I do devlogs in Portuguese would be reducing my reach a lot and I thought about it a lot.

Although I am Brazilian and have studied a lot of English throughout my life, I am very insecure with my pronunciation and grammar of the language.

But I threw myself into it and decided that I would have to learn whatever it took to make progress, so I did my first devlog of my first game in English and will continue to do it in English.

I would very much like to ask anyone interested in watching to point out a few things for me

1 - I was very quick in the explanations, I feel that maybe I should have elaborated some aspects of the video better

2 - Is it difficult to understand my English? Are there many points where I make a mistake?

The link for the video is https://youtu.be/4eOCkmY7GdE

I thank you all very much and I am very excited for this project

Welcome aboard the Indiedev express!

I thought your Youtube video had some nice footage (cityscape, gameplay, etc). From what I understood, you are trying to make a game like Mario Run with features like wall-slide and time trials. If I were you, I would focus less on explaining more and just keep it short and simple. Videos under 5 minutes are fine.

Your English pronunciation was not bad at all. If you speak louder it will be even easier to understand your words.

Thanks a lot for your feedback man, I'll keep that in mind for the next video, thanks a lot :)

I'm with 40watt, the footage my beautiful!

I think quick videos are fine also, most the time if I see a video is more then 5 mins long I don't want to watch it.

Have you ever watched Jonas Tyroller's videos?

Its obvious English is his 2nd language as well, but he seems to have found a way to make it more of a joke than a weakness.

So don't be too worried about your English, Speak loud and clear and if you stuff something up, it wont really matter, I'd imagine most people in the comments will just try to help you since your a small channel.

Good luck with your new career in game development!

All the best mate!  :)

Thanks a lot man for your feedback, and I didn't know Jonas Tyroller, but loved his videos, it will be a great reference for me :)

The second video is out... Not much improvement but still... :P
