Game plays quicker than it should

So I'm having a strange issue with this game, it seems to consistently play way quicker than it should.
To give an indication of what type of computer I'm trying to run this on, I've got an i5-6600k (nothing too crazy) paired with a GTX1080p. Also of note, I'm trying to play it on a GSYNC-enabled monitor.

Using default settings in NVIDIA control panel with GSYNC enabled, if the game is fullscreen it moves so quick that after starting the game, I die before I can even react to anything on the screen. It moves that crazy fast.
If I play the game in windowed mode, it improves by quite a bit as now the game seems to run at a speed closer to 2x the intended speed (as seen in the trailer).
After this I started to fiddle with NVIDIA control panel for a bit, limiting the framerate of the game first to 60, then to 30 fps, neither of which helped. Then I set my refresh settings from GSYNC enabled to fixed refresh (how normal monitors operate), but this seemed to have no effect.

At this point I'm not sure whether I can fix this on my end. If there are any logs I should post, let me know. I could also try to get a video recording if that would help.

Had this problem as well! My solution was to run the game on my second monitor which has a 60hz refresh rate. On my main monitor I was running at 144hz and I couldn't find a setting with stable results. Hope it helps. :)

Same issue.
Game is running way too fast.  Using an i7-4930K with a GTX1070. Monitors are running at 60hz refresh rate.

Strangely, going into the in-game options menu looks to have the game run at the correct speed. Leaving the options menu has the game returning to fast speed.

Example of fast game play in windowed mode:

I have the exact same issue. Options menu seems to run at normal speed, game is way too fast.

I have the same problem.

Seems to be due to the screen being able to go over 60fps (my monitor is 144hz).

My solution was to use rivatuner statistics server to force limit the game's FPS to 60.

I have a similar issue.

EVERYTHING runs too fast, but when I'm in the options menu it's fine, and when an enemy gets shot, it's running at a normal speed too, weirdly.

I have a 60 HZ monitor.

With some proper statistics, I noticed that the settings menu is forced to run at 60 FPS, but the rest isn't.
The main game runs at >100 FPS for me, and it seems like the game isn't controlled by time, which means the more FPS, the faster the game.

The developers should set a FPS limitation to 60, which isn't hard to do.

In the folder with the game in it, there should be a file called options.ini. Open that with notepad, and change the second line from "AlternateSyncMethod=1" to "AlternateSyncMethod=0"
This fixed the issue for me.

Oh my god thank you so much for this! It fixed the weird speed up problem it had. Thanks again.
