Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I can't wait to make something again as well. Will probably participate in the GMTK jam this year and make something there.

Untitled Ball Game.exe is an interesting trip down memory lane.
This is a very relaxing and soothing game, coupled with lo-fi beats.
It reminds me of two things particularly well: the early, nice, very experimental stages of game-development. And Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble.
10/10

Oh man, nice one. This sent me on a trip down memory lane. The music is a good tribute to the psx/ps2 racing game era.

Good job. Keep going dude!

Thanks!

Nice art! I enjoyed the music and the simple yet addictive gameplay. The only thing I would change is allowing more control over the wall jumps.

I really like the UI ideas. Having the screens kind of split like that is a really cool touch. The music is funky, and I also like the idea of having turn-based combat elements without it being turn-based. Never played something like that before. Good job!

Oh wow, the ambience of this game. You guys did a great job!

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

The gameplay was very satisfying. I really enjoyed the movement and all the mechanics! The soundscapes and graphics were just perfect.

Great job! 10/10

Thanks! I'm glad we got close to our inspiration. A high-score system would be great, I should probably add some features after post-jam...

Great game! The concept is very nice, and I really enjoyed just how much you played with it. The art and music are also great. Good job!

Thank you!

Thank you for playing and giving feedback! Yeah, we had more ideas, but sadly couldn't bring them to life this week. I actually submitted with just one minute on the clock, otherwise I also wanted to implement small stuff such as the highscore on the game-over screen.

Great! I enjoyed the mechanics, and you're doing a great job at explaining them throughout the game. The simple narrative is also a nice add-on, but where the game truly shines for me was the sound-design, was it inspired by Zelda?
Good job!

Man. The music is top-tier. The breakbeats really took me by surprise! And playing it is truly like a gift for my eyes, the visuals are very nice!
The gameplay is a little funky, I can't really see where my waves are going, and I don't really feel like I need to use the square wave, at least at first, since I seem to have infinite jumps. But the fact that I can see what wave I'm shooting is very helpful. If you had a tutorial level and polished out the shooting, this would have been perfect.

Good job on coming so far! Your game looks amazing.
Personally I cen relate to your problems a lot, getting feedback can be very scary at first too! Deciding to show your unfinished work is a very brave decision, and putting your ego aside when someone tells you that you're on the wrong path is even harder for me.

Great post!

Wow, a Silent Hill game? Sign me up!
I really liked the atmosphere, the ambience and the slow pacing is a very nice touch. The level-design is also well done! I like that you can unlock gates from the other side once you've progressed enough for more exploration.

I liked the game! The core game-loop is there and it has enough twists and turns.

My only critique is that the corpses of dead enemies stop the player's bullets.

I enjoyed it! The in-game UI was very cool.

These interactables are so satisfying, what are they called? I want to make a game around this concept...

Great game, I enjoyed the design and idea.

I really like the idea, and the level design is challenging. Movement feels a bit trippy though.

Really fun! I got up to level 9. Good job!

Cool idea, Minit but a couple years later

Hello there! I'm a Unity C# dev that has worked on a couple of jams before (check out my games). I would love to help out, so shoot me a PM or message me on Discord: DOOM2099#8516

Hello there! I've been working with Unity for some time now, and have done a couple of jams before. I'm looking for people who want to create a 2D game. Contact me on Discord DOOM2099#8516

Looking forward to making a game!

Great to see you're still making games, boggle! I like the camera in this one.

I would recommend RayLib or the DragonRuby engine. Both are fast and easy to use.

Greetings! My name is Nikolay, I'm currently studying in Germany with an emphasis on IT. I've never entered a GBJam before, but I have worked on other jams.

My main skill is programming. I have experience in C++ (UE4), I would say I'm good at C# (Unity), and also good at GML (GameMaker Studio). I also have experience in Godot (I programmed one of my published games in Godot), and JavaScript (WebGL, never used Three.js).

Sadly, I haven't made games in a long time and have been focusing more on software/web-dev, so I am very excited to work on a game again!

Here are some of my games.

A link to some YouTube videos of stuff I made (relatable to GameDev).

This is my GitHub.

With some proper statistics, I noticed that the settings menu is forced to run at 60 FPS, but the rest isn't.
The main game runs at >100 FPS for me, and it seems like the game isn't controlled by time, which means the more FPS, the faster the game.

The developers should set a FPS limitation to 60, which isn't hard to do.

I have a similar issue.

EVERYTHING runs too fast, but when I'm in the options menu it's fine, and when an enemy gets shot, it's running at a normal speed too, weirdly.

I have a 60 HZ monitor.

A great concept, well executed too.

It throws you in not knowing what is going on, and the characters embrace that. You're supposed to just do your work!

But why? Who are these people? What are their stories in life? Who are you to judge them? And most importantly... what are the consequences of the red slot?

The project definitely isn't polished, but it's a uni final project, so that's understandable. :D

But the idea is really nice, as well as the concept. The devs definitely combined film and game together to make something quite fun here.

The only part that isn't fun though, is the combat. It's buggy and shooting in a 2D way in a 3D environment doesn't work all that well, considering that you have to move on the Z axis to be able to shoot your enemies, not knowing when they will shoot. Thus the combat is a bit unfait.

Great job though, do play it.

One of the small amount of games that manages to recreate the old-feeling gameplay with modern controls.

This is a great example of how to do a lot with very little.

Hey there!

Good job with the pack, what's the license for it? I hope I can use it to build a little game ^^.

Thanks,
Lepto.
