Importing 2D Sprites to Build On?

I tried searching  around Asset Forge and looking at the Trello board but figured I'd ask here before putting in a feature request.

Is there a way to import a 2D sprite so you can overlay bricks on it? I'd like to make an existing 2D sprite I have 3D but was having difficulty spacing everything out.

I was thinking that if I could import an existing .png (that isn't a texture), it would be easier to position blocks over it and match the colors.

Thanks!

It's not possible to load 2D sprites unfortunately.
