Recently life has been very stressful, so to discover a gem like this couldn't have been timed better! I discovered this game in the Racial Equality bundle and after starting it I just couldn't stop, cute and welcoming with relatable characters, a plethora of sidequests, a comfy and warm ambiance, and a healthy dose of sass to keep you engaged. This could very much become a comfort game for me quite easily, A Short Hike feels like if Night In The Woods and Animal Crossing came together at the best possible crossroads. Last night I went over to hangout at my friend's house and convinced him to play A Short Hike on my computer, he was just as quickly and as easily hooked as I was (if not more so!). It was very interesting to see how different our playstyles were (and by that I mean he actually followed the story while I just wandered until I encountered something and learned the controls without the tutorial characters...whoops...haha...) needless to say this game is a worthy buy, especially at such a low price, once I get my job back or get a new job I'll have to come back and throw some more money at you, lol. My only irritation was that occasionally when climbing something tall the POV would suddenly change and Claire would be forced off whatever she was climbing and into a glide, but I could usually find a workaround using another landable outcropping. Other than that I adored this, I was a little thrown off by the pixel style in the beginning, but it grew on me! I especially liked Claire's pose for her picture at the top of the peak! Thank you for making this game, I will definitely be recommending it to others!
