As soon as I made and equipped the slingshot, despite being listed as separate commands on the menu, pressing "punch" also fired the slingshot. Reassigning the commands did not seem to affect this.

Does the slingshot shoots when you press punch any time? Or just when you created it and you exited the inventory?

What version are you playing (it's shown on the bottom-left part of the menu)
