I really like the free zine of 52 fates 😃.

I see that this zine has a license that has not permission to modify and use commercially. Can you tell my if the full rulebook has the same license?

I have just started creating a fantasy setting and I’m thinking of maybe using this system.

Thank you! The license on the zine is the one found here, which states:

• Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
• Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material
• Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
• NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.

So you can definitely create a setting based upon it and make it public, as long as it's not commercial (i.e., you sell the setting for profit).  The rulebook has a bit of a tighter license currently:

• Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format

• NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
• NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.

That last line is key. However, I'm re-evaluating the licenses at this moment. I need something that will guard the game from blatant copying, but will allow people to create their own stuff based on it, and publish it even for profit (like a setting). I'd love to see people like you creating settings, and why not, even sell them here! I will keep you posted on this; I'm pretty certain I'll be making a decision between today and tomorrow, and will update the PDFs with the correct licenses if needed.

But definitely, go ahead and create your setting! It's exciting to see people create stuff based on my little game; I'm truly honored by that.
