[Co-Founder][Art]Looking For Co-Founder To Form New Indie Studio

I'm forming a new independent studio and I'm looking for a (ideally) art-focused co-founder to join me in this new venture.

My previous (and current) studio has grown to a point where taking risks on smaller, more experimental and personal game ideas is no longer financially viable (investors don't like taking risks and job security is important to the employees). And I think starting a new studio will allow me to not only explore new ideas, but also have a little more creative freedom.

I'm looking to work on anything from simplistic mobile games to more complex desktop and console titles. I'm up for working on either 2D and 3D games.

I've accumulated almost 10 years of experience working in the industry (Indie + AAA including: EA Games, Ubisoft, Juicy Beast, MADSOFT Games, and freelancing for various studios), and I have plenty of resources, contacts, and pretty much everything a new studio would require to get started, but I just don't want to take on the whole weight of a new studio on my own. Besides, I miss the days of being part of a two-person team and doing crazy and creative stuff.

I'm specifically looking for a co-founder that can bring something to the table, being a modeller, illustrator, animator, or art director would be ideal, so you can handle the visual and art direction side of the studio, while I handle the development and business side.

Feel free to either reply to this topic on here, email me at hello@andrewdavid.net, or add me on Skype (AndrewDavidJ).

So, it's been two weeks since I've posted this. I've gotten a couple candidates so far but, unfortunately, none of us have really clicked yet.

Figured this would be a good time to bump the topic back up!

Looks so tempting, but im not a great artist yet :( At least I know where im going to look when I feel like my skills are up to par! I am sure you will find somebody!

Intriguing but I also feel this may be putting the cart before the horse. Co founding a studio is a huge endeavor. I would have to know if I meshed well with you before going all in on a new company. I am a dedicated painter, 2-D artist, writer, and art director. Would you be interested in working on a small game together before going gung ho as an official team?

Oh, absolutely! I plan on having a probationary period where we just chat to get to know each other and work on a tiny-scoped prototype just to evaluate how we work together and whether or not our personalities and work-styles click at all.

Alright, it's been about two weeks since the last post, so I'm going to bump this again!
