Dev Log 3 - Scheduling My Work

Hello everyone, in this Dev-log, I will primarily discuss our team's current progress and future plans.

Our team has completed the overall framework of the game, including the development of new mechanics for each level and interactions between scenes. We have filled out the game design document reflecting our current progress and received some feedback. One particularly interesting piece of feedback is related to our chosen topic, namely AI sentiment ethics. Although the game mechanics and levels are finalized, in the future, to better align with our theme and enhance player immersion, we may consider adding new gameplay elements or focusing more on the narrative to delve deeper into this topic.

This week, the team collaboratively worked on the project breakdown schedule, providing everyone with a clearer understanding of tasks and timelines. However, I often forget what I need to do, so I believe it's time to change my working method to make reminders more intuitive. I plan to stick notes on my room's wall to remind me of my current progress and regularly update my Jira. Hopefully, this will help with my forgetfulness and procrastination.

Overall, the project is progressing smoothly! Thank you for reading.

Hello there Tian.  I like hearing your thoughts about how you want to move forward with this project with more gameplay elements. When it comes to this, however, I think in terms of getting stuff organized it can be hard since we all have so many things going on at once. that it can be hard to get things done properly. I understand why you would use those sticky notes for this reason lol. The work is going smoothly so far so I would not worry about it but it's nice to see that you want to do new things as well. I want to make myself a more useful team member in the days that are to come so I'm always down to learn new things as well just in case we run out of level design and narrative design stuff to do, which are my main strengths.  Wish you luck!

Hi Tian, very interested in your thoughts about new gameplay elements and developing the narrative. There's a lot to interact with in the topic so I'm sure there's a lot we can do. On the topic of forgetting what you need to do, I think we're all in a similar state at the moment so I wouldn't stress over it too much, but it's always good to change your methods and try new things. Hope it works out well!

Hello Hejie, this is a great insight into your current progress! Yes as AI grows its ethics become debatable, it will be interesting to see how your group handles conveying the message across to the players. It's also a good sign that you understand that your scheduling often causes you to forget what to work on and how you plan to solve the issue with sticky notes! Just understanding the problem alone is hard for many people, so this is a great first step.
