This Devlog will focus on talking about our team's progress and how it will play out for the rest of this semester and the entire next semester.
Up until now, our team has completed the basic framework and mechanics for the game. By having this completed, we can design how the levels in the game will vary and the interactions in the game. Our Level Design Document has been completed showing what our game will roughly look like near the end of the year. As a level designer myself, I have only designed the layouts of the levels, we have yet to put any of them inside of the unity project. In the future, we will need to add more gameplay to make the game more outstanding and more engaging to play since it doesn't have any of that as of now. Improving the narrative will also play a major role in this as well.
During this week, we all worked together on getting our work schedule done and organized, and also made a risk chart explaining what may happen if we don't properly meet our deadlines. I myself, however, tend to forget about making progress with our current project since we already got the basic game mechanics done, which include the level design and narrative design aspects in our game, which my roles are mainly about. Since programming and art aren't much of my thing, and are our main roles for completing the project, I feel like I'm barely doing anything and not contributing much to help out my teammates. Instead, they are the ones doing the majority of the work and I'm doing very little. :( To make myself more useful, I will try to improve mainly on my programming skills since I have a minor familiarity in that. To prevent myself of forgetting, also since I'm really bad with time managing, I will constantly write down notes on my laptop to remind myself of what needs to be done next and do it as early as possible to give myself plenty of time. Hopefully, all of this will help me improve my skills in many areas so I can be a more useful teammate in the days that to come.
With all that being said though, our team is doing a great job at making the project progress smoothly. Thanks for reading my devlog.
