Description
Run - Jump - Escape to Salvation They are coming! You better get moving before they catch you! Taking place some time after the events of Shoot & Destroy, Dodge Spree is 1-bit 2D forced side scrolling platformer (Runner - for short). Run, jump, duck and slide your way towards salvation. NOTE: You can only duck for a limited time, so try it before it's required :) Created in 2011 with Game Maker, this port aims to preserve this project in its essence. Making it playable on OUYA. Created by Samuel Sousa Enjoy!
How long have you spent working on code for the game?
The original prototype was made 2 weeks (full time). This port has taken around the same amount of time. Removed unused objects, re-structured the game code, added extra flare, controller support, created sfx (no music yet), implemented sfx and music, fixed many bugs, added some optimization code and wrapped up.

I like the reduced, almost 1bit black and white style. A fun game, even without music.
Thanks!
I currently got my hand full but will start looking into the music some time next month.
Solid but graphically very simple jump'n'run.
When falling from a higher platform to the ground, the jump button does not seem to work in level 2. Or the "falling"-state is kept too long or so.
Thanks!
It is general, it's a falling state. There could a specific point where colliders affect it more than necessary or longer than usual...
Fun game. Looks good. Not a fan of the "jump" sound but no worries. Will enjoy trying to get as far as possible with this one.
The later levels can get tough some trial and error may be required.
Audio hasn't been finished, since there is no music I didn't take the time to adjust volumes either.
You can always mute the TV :)
Looks very interesting
