Wow, you really nailed the dreamscape vibes; the ambiance was so wonderfully weird, I loved it.

In my opinion, the lore was the strongest aspect of this game, and I hope you expand on it after the jam. It has the potential to develop into a beautiful story you’d find in a book. Every animation and the background movement really brought the game to life and added to the weirdcore vibes. I also really loved the big eye-fish-creature-thingy, which added flavour to the beautiful world design.

As for the gameplay, my main points of feedback align with what other comments have mentioned (water vision, mermaid playability, etc.), so I won't delve too deeply into those. Playing the character felt nice, but I do think some kind of light combat system could work well with this game. As it stands, the gameplay is a bit lacking, but I hope you don't get discouraged and continue expanding the game—it's a game you should be proud of. If you plan on expanding it, let me know, and I'll definitely keep an eye out for it even after the jam.

Thank you very much  Aaven! :) The fact that the gameplay is slightly behind doesn't surprise me at all ahah, but I plan to work on it. And I'm super happy that you like the story and the universe.
It is so cool to see a trend in ideas emerging from the comments and with the testers, so thanks again <3

The game is cool, I just don't understand what the change in "view" is for, the water one seems too useful without compensation, it's like basic life but with the objectives, the rest is very cool well done :D

Thanks for your comment! :) Yes it's true, the idea of water vision came to me at the very end and I didn't have time to create interesting gameplay with it..
But the idea would perhaps be to only be able to activate it at certain times, or to have a timer, or for it to disrupt something else (like the character's speed) or to make you more vulnerable ?
I'm also thinking that other things could appear in water vision, like ghosts or epic cyanobacteria ahaha :D

I was hoping to play a section involving having the mermaid tail lol, but nonetheless, I love the art, especially the character design.

I think having some music during the collecting would've contributed really nicely to the dreamscape atmosphere rather than only at the end when you've collected all the water.

As for the water vision mechanic, there wasn't any incentive, gameplay wise, to turn it off other than to just see the world. I think having some other mechanic to incentivize you to turn off your water vision would be good.

And as I stated before, the atmosphere and the character design really interests me, I kinda want to know what sort of world you had in mind for this game when you made it.

Thank you for your feedback !! <3 You're not the first to tell me that they want to play the mermaid ^^

Basically, my plan was that once all the water items where collected and the fountain reactivated, rain would fall and the water would begin to rise, and all the animals calm down. Like a second part of the game.

And indeed, the use of water vision is missing a restriction ! Do you have an idea ? :) Perhaps it could only be accessible once an action is performed (defeat an enemy (but I don't have a fight system lol), find an item) or accessible in limited time or resources...

Also agree about the music throughout the game :)

Hmm... A few simple way to do it would be to make it so it's limited and you can only use it for a short time before needing to recharge (though it will be a quick recharge). Another would be to make enemies or only certain enemies be invisible when you use it so the player would need to deactivate the water vision in order to see incoming dangers. You can also try restricting the player's movement so they move slower when using it.

And about the visuals, I don't know, it kind of came about like that. I had already created these trees before and I thought it was great to put them at the bottom of a sea empty of water, visually it pops even if it's is absurd. Because I'm in love with the forest (and flooded forests like mangroves!!)
And besides that I love creating cute characters haha.

I don't know if that answers your question :)

maan i love it, The fact that everything is half empty is a little scary, but it creates a very good atmosphere, is It's like I'll never know what's going to happen next haha, the visuals are so goods , congratulations for the game!
